Painting
A media room painted deep navy, ceiling included
Walls, ceiling and doors in one dark color with crisp white trim, for a room that is meant to disappear when the lights go down.
Dark rooms go wrong when the ceiling is left white: the eye stops at the line and the room feels shorter. Taking the color over the ceiling made the room feel enclosed on purpose.
Deep colors are less forgiving than light ones, so the prep is where the time goes: patching, sanding and cutting in clean lines against the white trim.
